"Moses" was my first show cocker. I had imported him from England with help from Bengt Ulinder, when he was four months old. He had some success, despite the fact that he himself was not that impressed with the show life. At least not if you had to run many rounds in the ring. He often thought it was enough with one - maybe two. I think he would have prefered to have been sitting outside the ring, looking at the others running around! His first CC - and my very first too by the way - he got at the Spaniel- & Retriever Club Show in Norrköping, and at the same show he also won BOB och Best In Show! That was nearly - but only nearly - too much for me! I think it took us a week or so to understand it! He was the best friend and companion you could have. He was the kindest dog you could think of, both to people and other dogs. And he was my little policeman! We had many cocker meeting in the cocker club here in Västerås at that time, where the dogs would run around having fun with each other. If two had some thoughts about starting a fight Moses always stopped it with only looking at them, that was all that was needed." |
